Built from a renovation that needed saving

HomeNest was born in a pre-war house filled with history, dust, and far too many spreadsheets.

It started with an inheritance. Anna's family home, a beautiful pre-World War II house in Poland, had stood for nearly a century. Passed down through generations, it held memories in every creaking floorboard and every weathered wall. But time had taken its toll.

When Anna and Thomas decided to restore this piece of family history, they had no idea what they were getting into. The house needed everything: new electrical, updated plumbing, structural repairs, and endless cosmetic work. It was a labor of love, but also a logistical nightmare.

They tried spreadsheets. They tried notebooks. They tried apps that were built for contractors, not homeowners. Nothing worked. Documents got lost. Budgets spiraled. Conversations with contractors became a game of phone tag and forgotten details.

The Challenge

Renovation chaos is universal

Managing a renovation from abroad made everything harder. With contractors in Poland and Anna & Thomas splitting time between continents, they needed a way to track everything in one place. Every receipt, every conversation, every milestone.

After months of frustration, they realized: if they were struggling this much with their technical backgrounds, how were regular homeowners supposed to manage? That's when the idea for HomeNest was born.

The Solution

From personal pain to shared solution

Anna started building a simple tool to track their own renovation. Just the basics: budget tracking, document storage, a timeline they could actually follow. No complex project management features they'd never use.

As the tool grew, friends and family started asking for it. Turns out, everyone renovating their home was drowning in the same chaos. HomeNest went from a personal project to a mission: make home renovation manageable for everyone.
